MATRYX Airoh’s New Premium Helmet For The Road Segment

One of the AIROH’s most awaited innovations in the road motorcycling segment. We are talking about MATRYX, an ECE 2206 homologated full-face helmet, equipped with an innovative ventilation system and exclusive inner linings that guarantee maximum comfort. With an attractive design, is aimed at all those looking for innovation and safety. Designed inside the AIROH wind tunnel, MATRYX promises to guide the rider towards ever greater and more important goals.

MATRYX is the new AIROH full-face proposal for the road motorcycling segment. Brand’s top of the range of the road collection, it is aimed not only at expert motorcyclists but at all enthusiasts looking for a travel companion ready to face any challenge, even the most demanding ones.

Towards ever important goals

ECE 2206 homologated, MATRYX is synonymous with maximum safety and protection, fundamental peculiarities of AIROH. Designed and developed in the company’s laboratories, above all inside the futuristic wind tunnel, it has a striking design, characterized by decisive and aggressive lines, as required by the racing world. The DD Ring retention system allows it to be also used on the track.

The outer shell, available in two different sizes, made of Full Carbon 3K or HPC (High Performance Composite). It includes the ASN (AIROH Sliding Net) system, a particular 3D fabric structure which facilitates the passage of air for a better user experience and reduces the forces transmitted to the head in case of impact. The helmet also has the AEFR System (AIROH Emergency Fast Release) which allows the cheek pads quick removal in case of emergency.

Comfort and high performance

In addition to its design and aerodynamics, MATRYX has also been tested inside the wind tunnel in terms of acoustics and thermoregulation; this for the most efficient combination of design and high performance, for unrivalled comfort and riding pleasure in every situation and condition.

The ventilation system is innovative and functional, and includes air intakes positioned on the chin guard and on the upper part of the helmet. To complete, the rear spoilers with extractors optimize the aeration inside the helmet. The ventilation is controllable even when wearing gloves allowing to adjust the air intakes with a simple gesture, in order to better manage the internal thermoregulation according to the climatic situation and use, emphasizing the pleasure to ride.

MATRYX can be used in any season, for this reason, it is also equipped with a practical Stop Wind, available in two lengths: a short one that protects against annoying air infiltrations and a longer one that can also guarantee protection from the winter cold. In addition, there is a removable nose cover.

Maximum attention was also paid to the inner linings which are hypoallergenic, removable and washable. They are made with high quality fabrics, like the innovative Coolmax, and they also boast exclusive treatments that guarantee maximum breathability and a pleasant feel.

Not to lose sight of the goal

MATRYX has an extraordinarily wide visor with ATVR technology (AIROH Tool-less Visor Removal) and it is UV resistant. Prepared for the Pinlock 120XLT lens, available inside the box. It’s worth to underline also the innovative A3S system (AIROH Automatic AntiFog System) combined with the central locking system, to have maximum control over every detail, without ever giving up on safety. The helmet is also completed with a practical integrated Sun Visor.

As anticipated, MATRYX has two shells that cover from size XS to XXL, to adapt to different cranial conformities, from the smallest to the biggest ones. Its weight is from 1450g ±50g (only for the Full Carbon 3K version) and from 1500g ±50g (for the HPC version), it is set up for intercom thanks to the Bluetooth Ready system, with the possibility to place the battery inside the helmet in the dedicated space.

AGV K1 – Warmup Matt Black / Red

My first impression of the looks of the AGV K1 – Warmup Matt Black/Red is positive, whilst I’m not a huge fan of matt black I have to admit I am warming up to it (not pun intended). My first initial fitting I was expecting the usual tight fit and eventual new helmet ache I was pleasantly surprised there was none of that. The interior of the helmet feels comfortable, it features Dry-Comfort soft removable interior crown and cheek pads

One thing I did noticed is its lightweight, whilst it’s not the lightest in the AGV range it comes in at 1.500g. The helmet features a lightweight shell made from a combination of high resistance thermoplastic. This combination of materials provides superior protection against impacts and abrasion. The shell also features an aerodynamic design that reduces drag and improves stability while riding.

The helmet is marketed as sport helmet for everyday riding market but doesn’t come with an internal dark visor for those sunny days  we do get in the UK. Therefore I had to wear my sunglasses but I usually do anyway so wasn’t a bugbear for me personally. The visor is easily opened (unlike some) whilst wearing gloves either while riding or at the traffic lights.

The field of view is 190° with a wider lateral and vertical field of vision giving you better visibility whilst on your ride.

The interior of the helmet is comfortable to wear and it has quick-release pull straps on each side in case of an accident and a D-ring strap. There are five front vents on the helmet and 2 rear extractors.

Overall, the AGV K1 is an excellent choice for riders of all levels. It offers superior protection and comfort, making them an ideal choice for riders of all levels. The only con for some riders is it does not come with an internal sun visor.

The AGV K1 is now my go to helmet..

A GIVI graphic for each of the best-selling off-road bikes

The Italian firm adds three new versions to the 60.1 helmet, bringing the number of colour variants to 13 which will suit the tastes of all bikers.

GIVI’S first off-road helmet, the 60.1, was born less than a year ago. It was the result of countless hours of research, laboratory tests and various competition tests carried out by Simone Cristini, a World Enduro rider who worked with the transalpine firm on the helmet’s design. The multitude of graphics and variants available on this model mean it is sure to match with any of the best-selling enduro bikes currently on the market. Two new versions of its already well-known Invert graphics as well as the Gloom, a completely new design which features an innovative and rogue aesthetic, are new for 2023.

GIVI is a benchmark in the motorbike and motorcyclist accessories sector, partly due to its highly developed R&D department. Throughout the design process at its Brescia factory, GIVI believes it’s essential to listen to its users’ needs. For this reason, they have expanded their helmet catalogue to a total of 17 different models in recent years, with a multitude of graphics to adapt to the official colours of the main brands on the market, and to cater to the tastes of all two-wheeled enthusiasts. This is the case with the 60.1, of which there are three new versions in 2023.

This full-face helmet has more than 13 multicolour variations that are in line with current trends. They are divided into three graphics. The latest and most daring is the Gloom, a mix of black and red details imitating a skull, as well as a design with a splash effect. The selection doesn’t end there. The Invert, with straight and aggressive lines and a sportier style, also adds two new colours to its range this year: one in red, white and black, which is a perfect match for the GasGas EC 350, and another which boasts a more restrained design, which comes in different shades of black for the more discreet bikers. These new models, together with all its previous variants, allow the 60.1 to perfectly match the official colours of the best-selling off-road bikes.

The 60.1 has been thoroughly developed with the latest technology, the best materials and under the new European ECE 22R06 homologation. This means the tests it has passed include impact tests at different speeds – on screens, rotational, on inclined surfaces or by particles at high speed – and are more comprehensive and demanding. What’s more, all its accessories, such as the visors, also have this certification.

Its shell is made from technopolymer and features hypoallergenic fabric on the inside, designed with an attractive camouflage finish, which is detachable, removable and washable. It also includes an adjustable visor, a “Double D” strap closure for greater safety, and front, upper and chin guard air intakes, together with a rear extractor. It’s available in sizes XS to XXL at £145.90.

Welcome to MyGARAGE

GIVI launches its new virtual meeting point between the Italian brand and two-wheel users with a wide range of advantages.

Often when we buy something for our motorbike, it can be difficult to understand the instruction manual to mount it, to know what accessories we can add to it or even to manage its warranty. In a bid to offer the best solution to any of these problems, GIVI, the renowned transalpine brand of motorbike and motorcyclist equipment, is betting on the latest technology, both in the design of its products and in dealing with its customers, to create its new platform, MyGARAGE. It’s a website designed for lovers of two wheels where we can find goodies of all kinds, like extensions of up to two years of warranty on GIVI items, video tutorials on the assembly of its accessories, instruction manuals for accessories, recommendations for the bike, wish lists and even a summary of all the GIVI materials we have. It’s an exclusive club that meets the requirements of even the most demanding bikers.

MyGARAGE is a new way to connect all GIVI customers. Imagine it as a kind of spokesperson for the brand. Through a direct exchange of information between the manufacturer and the user, this platform will be beneficial for both. Consumers will be able to offer feedback on the brand’s products and influence product updates or upcoming product launches, allowing the company to know and offer solutions to all the needs that motorcyclists may have. At the same time, those same motorcyclists will receive special treatment and exclusive opportunities.

The platform is simple to use. It can be accessed on the GIVI website, where we can register in MyGARAGE, filling in our details and disclosing the model of our motorbike. Once we have logged in, we will find a desktop where the vehicle we selected when we registered will appear. On this screen we can add the GIVI products we already have, extend their warranty for 2 years by filling in a short form and access their instruction manuals. What’s more, there is a section where we find some items recommended for our bike, or that might interest us according to the accessories we already have.

It also has a gallery classified by categories where we can find anything, from interviews with members of the LCR MotoGP Team, to videos showing the new products, tutorial videos or different experiences of other lovers of two wheels. It’s an interesting section for those who want to know a little more about the brand and everything they do.

The platform also allows us to create a wish list in which we can include all the brand’s products that we would like to have on our bike and see their price at that moment. Finally, we have a section where we can access all the catalogues of the Italian brand. And that’s not all. If you access the GIVI website once you have logged in to MyGARAGE, you can add references to both the wish list and the list of accessories you already have on your bike. In addition, this website has personalisation options, allowing you to change elements such as the cover photo, profile image or user name.

GIVI has taken a step forward, not just in technology and innovation, but also in its relationship with the customer. Through MyGARAGE, and the safety of its products, it’s offering the best attention to its users and a perfect solution to any need that may arise on the motorbike.

LS2 Explorer Plus Helmet Review

Maja Kenney of Maja’s Motorcycle Adventures reviews the LS2 Explorer Plus (Off-Road) Helmet.

Having ventured into the world of adventure motorcycling I needed a new helmet to match the activity and of course, my new adventure bike, too!

The first impression was a very positive one even before I took the helmet out of the box. The packaging itself is well thought out, with good design. The helmet itself is packed in the usual drawstring bag and as a bonus, it also comes with a carry bag. That’s my flight carry-on sorted. It also comes with an inflatable helmet ring for when you are fitting the comms to the helmet, removing the peak or the visor and generally storing it.

The helmet also comes with a pinlock and a set of blanking plates to use when the peak comes off. I love that about the helmet, I can use it with or without the peak depending on the type of riding I want to do. The removal of the peak is very easy, you need an allen key that comes in the box with the helmet and a Phillips screwdriver (you have to use your own) to remove the screw holding the peak in place at the top of the helmet. It took me 10 minutes to remove it the first time because I took a while to figure out how to take out the blanking plate at the top without breaking it (it just snaps in and out of the mount) but subsequent times the whole process took only a few minutes. I really like the sturdiness of the mounts and that you need to screw the visor in place, it feels much easier and not as flimsy as it does with the plastic systems on some other helmets.

The only thing I have noticed after using the helmet for a few weeks is that the rubber that seals the visor at the top seems to be rubbing against the pinlock when you open and close the visor. My pinlock now has visible markings at the sides. This is more of a cosmetic annoyance as it doesn’t impair the vision itself.

The look itself is quite aggressive, with the chin piece coming up very high and this does mean I had to slightly tilt my head down to see the bike’s dials (compared to the road helmets I have). However, it comes with a very wide side view which helps with the periphery vision.

With every new helmet, I know to expect it to be tight for the first few rides, some take a while to ‘bed in’ and stop giving me a tension headache. I was delighted to find out that the fit is excellent and even after wearing it for a good three hours on the first ride, I’ve almost forgotten I am wearing a brand new helmet.

The LS2 Explorer fits perfectly around the crown of my head and it squeezes my cheeks in place. There is plenty of space around the lower jaw and chin area which makes it easy to talk to your riding buddies if you are connected with intercoms or just to sing out loud happy tunes. Some helmets can make me feel a little bit claustrophobic if they are too tight around the chin area, especially on long rides. I love the LS2 fit because even after a full day’s riding I don’t feel confined in the helmet and at the same time I feel very safe.

The foam in the helmet is laser cut, and the inside is hypoallergenic and breathable. The liner is washable and the helmet comes with a chin curtain for the colder rides to keep the wind away from your neck. As per my previous point, even with the chin curtain the movement of my jaw is not restricted.

The helmet is made out of carbon fibre composite and weighs 1400 grams which is very light indeed. It is ECE 22.06 compliant and DOT certified and is manufactured in 3 shells to ensure a good fit across different sizes. The sizes range from XS to 2XL and it is a long oval shape.

There are several vents to help keep you cool, a chin vent, two at the top of the helmet and two side vents or exhaust ports. Thanks to their design, they are super easy to open/close with a gloved hand.

To ensure good protection the chin strap is reinforced, and it fastens with the double D Ring. Personally, I really like the colour and the finish of the D Rings, too. The helmet also comes with an emergency release system.

The visor is scratch resistant and the helmet also comes with an internal dark sun visor. I wish the sun visor would drop down a little lower to give you fewer lines in your field of vision  This is especially important for me as I have to wear spectacles when riding and the rims of my specs already clutter the view.

Having worn the helmet on three long days of green laning I am very pleased with the fit, the comfort and the look. Equally on roads, it handles the wind really well, the peak doesn’t pull your head backward when you look up. It is fairly quiet although not the quietest one I’ve ever tried. There is minimum lining covering the comms speakers which I like because I can hear the sound much better than in some other helmets.

I had the opportunity to take the helmet on a trip to Spain for three days and as I was hiring a street bike, I left the peak at home. The performance of the helmet was impressive in 25-degree Celsius weather where the many vents really made a big difference to my comfort. You can feel the air coming into the helmet from the vents on top and that helps keep your head cool. I found it quite easy to take the helmet off and back on at stops.

The best bit is that, as mentioned before, the helmet comes with a carry bag which made for the perfect carry-on bag on the flight. The helmet itself is light and the bag is big enough to allow me to fit inside my cameras to record the rides, a book, glasses and a few other bits and pieces for the flight.

Overall I find the LS2 helmet delivered more than I expected from a brand I wasn’t very familiar with. It offers great value for money with all the safety features and certification and the real bonus is the superior build and finish quality of the helmet. At £320 mark this helmet definitely feels more premium than its price tag.

MotoGP racer, Aleix Espargaró, joins Team Mips

MotoGP racer, Aleix Espargaró, joins Team Mips and becomes the first MotoGP™ rider to use the Mips® safety system.

Mips, a world leader in helmet-based safety, is proud to announce its newest member to Team Mips: Aleix Espargaró, factory rider for Aprilia Racing in MotoGP™, the premier class of motorcycle racing in the world.

A regular in the MotoGP paddock since 2009, Aleix is an extremely experienced rider with a number of podiums and pole positions on his scorecard.

Aleix Espargaró comments: “I’m very proud to be the first MotoGP rider to use the Mips safety system with my Kabuto helmet. Since I have been using the Mips system, I have not noticed any difference in the comfort of the helmet, but I personally feel safer riding in the MotoGP. As you all know, Mips’ systems have been used in cycling for years, and from now on I also use the Mips system in the premier motorcycle championship in the world and I’m happy to help by sharing my experience. In my opinion, bringing Mips into our sport helps put a needed spotlight on helmet safety.”

For the 2023 season, Aleix will be wearing Kabuto’s F17 Racing Mips helmet – the first MotoGP™ helmet to be equipped with the Mips® safety system in the form of the Mips Integra TX helmet comfort padding. The Mips Integra TX helmet padding is the first solution of its kind from Mips with the patented low friction layer integrated inside the padding itself.

Mips is already widely adopted in other two-wheeled professional sports such as motocross and cycling, both of which many MotoGP riders actively engage with. Entering MotoGP and adding Aleix to Team Mips is a milestone moment for Mips in their quest to raise awareness of helmet safety and their mission to lead the world to safer helmets.

Max Strandwitz, CEO of Mips, comments: “By its nature, the MotoGP class pushes everyone and everything involved with it to the limit and that’s part of the reason why it’s known around the world to be the pinnacle of track racing. Having recognition on a global platform of the Mips safety system, and with Aleix as an advocate, is fully in line with our mission of leading the world to safer helmets.”

A GIVI For Every Personality

GIVI’s latest full face helmets, the 50.8 and 50.9, feature a wide range of graphics and colours.

Safety, comfort and style are within reach for every motorcyclist thanks to GIVI and its new models. With ECE 22-06 approval, the 50.8 and 50.9 offer users all the protection they need on their journeys, whatever their style. Since its launch last year, the Italian brand’s graphics team hasn’t stopped working, and can therefore offer numerous options for those who prefer the classic style as well as those who are open to riding with striking and different designs.

GIVI, the transalpine firm specializing in motorbike and motorcyclist equipment, has been designing and producing top level, innovative, comfortable and highly safe helmets for more than 20 years. An example of its constant evolution in these two decades of work are its latest full-face models, the 50.8 and 50.9, two sport touring helmets, which feature a technopolymer shell in three sizes, micrometric closure and ECE 22-06 homologation, the most recent and demanding to date. One of their main features, and a strong point for users, is the good ventilation offered by both models, with three air intakes (two on the upper part and one on the chin) and two rear extractors. And with the incorporation of retractable sunglasses to avoid glare from the sun, safety and comfort are more than guaranteed.

What’s more, GIVI has unveiled different graphics and plain colours, so there’s an option for every personality, which accommodates all users in the market.

CLASSIC AND ELEGANT
The graphics which often work best are the simplest, like those which use a solid colour throughout the helmet – a versatile and restrained option that is still the main choice of many motorcyclists. For them, GIVI has the 50.9 Solid Color in black, available in sizes XS to XXL for £186.90, and the 50.8 Solid Color in white, available in the same sizes for £158.90.

A SPORTY TOUCH
Here is another classic, but in this case much more eye-catching. With geometric lines and powerful colours, the racing style graphics are still a favourite for a large part of the market. And the Italian brand has developed different designs and colour combinations for these two helmets precisely for that reason. For a start, the 50.8 is available in the versions RACER (black, grey and fluorescent yellow), in sizes XS to XXL; BRAVE (black, grey and red), in the same sizes; BRAVE LADY (black, grey and pink), from XS to L; and the newest model, the MACH1, which presents a combination of white, black, red and different shades of blue (available from size XS to XXL. All of them can be acquired for £167.90.

Then the GIVI 50.9 helmet is available in the ATOMIC and ATOMIC LADYversions. The former also combines the colours white, black, red and blue and is available in sizes XS to XXL, for £193.90. The women’s version plays with grey, silver, black and pink and is available in sizes XS to L.

DARING DESIGNS
The latest 50.9 graphic, one of the main new features for 2023, is especially designed for riders who enjoy catching the attention of those they pass on the street. It’s also a perfect fit for those who venture out of the traditional and more usual designs, preferring a new and groundbreaking colour combination. This new design comes under the name ENIGMA, which features daring prints, geometric lines and with the colours black, grey, fuchsia pink and light blue, results in an original, different and fun model. It’s available for £193.90, in sizes XS to XXL.

These, and many more GIVI items, provide a boost for motorcycle trips and make any journey on two wheels a more comfortable experience. For more information about this product or any other accessories for your motorcycle visit www.givi.co.uk or call 01327 706220.

LS2’s full-carbon, ECE 22.06-certified, dual sport helmet gets a fresh colour option for 2023: the all-new ‘Edge’ scheme blends the Explorer C’s premium carbon fibre finish with eye-catching Black/Orange/White highlights.

Two helmets in one, the Explorer’s fully adjustable peak can be removed, transforming it from an adventure-style into a streamline sport helmet for high speed road or track use.

Its shell is made from 100% high grade 6k twill weave carbon fibre, and comes in three outer sizes to keep size and weight to a minimum – just 1450g. The long-oval shape and laser-cut foam inserts follow the natural contour of the head for maximum comfort.

Up front, the extra wide aperture gives plenty of peripheral vision, and the visor is Pinlock-ready, with an anti-fog shield included as standard. A drop-down sun visor also features, operated with a hidden slider.

Dynamic flow-through ventilation keeps the rider cool and comfortable, while the breathable hypoallergenic liner adds to the luxury feel and it is removable and washable. For complete peace of mind, an Emergency Release System allows first responders to safely pull-out the cheek pads before the helmet is removed.

The MX701 Explorer C comes in sizes XS-2XL, retailing at £320 for the Edge and other graphic options. Prices start at £300 for the solid carbon finish. All models come with a handy helmet bag, a Pinlock Max Vision insert, reflective stickers and a special tool for quick and easy removal and refitting of the peak and visor.

AIROH Mathisse Helmet Comes With a New Captivating Graphic Design

The Iconic AIROH Mathisse Helmet Comes With a New Captivating Graphic Design.

Innovation and quality are the elements that set apart AIROH’s research work and, even when it comes to design, the company is a benchmark in the motorcycle helmet’s sector. Expected for the start of the spring season, AIROH presents the new colors of its flagship flip up: the Mathisse helmet is presented to the public with captivating and colorful graphics, for all those who do not want to compromise between style and technology.

Widely recognizable for its lines that draw a unique and captivating profile, the AIROH Mathisse helmet presents itself to the public with new and intriguing colors with a fluid and dynamic style. Since its birth in 2002, Mathisse has undergone numerous innovations and improvements, to adapt this pioneering model to the changing tastes and needs, and so in 2021 Mathisse has assumed its current conformation, complete with technologically advanced systems and able to look forward boldly.

In view of the 2023 season, motorcycle touring enthusiasts will find Mathisse in a further renewed look with new graphics and colors. Alongside the elegant monochrome there are some new dynamic designs, with graphic elements in one or two colors, on a white, gray or black background, which thus expand the choice possibilities of the rider, who is increasingly attentive to the stylistic details of the helmet he wears, possibly in combination with the chromatic details of his bike and equipment.

Having confirmed the intrinsic value in helmet engineering, the Italian company has concentrated its resources on the external look of Mathisse, enhancing its versatile and multifaceted appearance.

“We set ourselves the goal of offering motorcyclists who are more attentive to their look a helmet with a linear and elegant but not anonymous aesthetic appearance, with character but not invasive – commented Antonio Locatelli, CEO and founder of AIROH – and thus Mathisse, in its new colors, becomes the ideal helmet to combine with your bike to get a perfectly matched motorcycle outfit”. A demanding challenge if we consider that it had to be extended to the three configurations in which the helmet can be worn.

A helmet with a multifaceted soul.
Mathisse can be worn in different driving conditions, adapting both to urban use and to touring. Versatility is undoubtedly the real strength of the Mathisse helmet, which can be worn in three different configurations to adapt to different driving and climatic conditions. The design was designed to allow the rider to easily and quickly change the configuration of the helmet with a simple wave of the hand: the innovative chin guard can rotate 180 degrees, a mechanism independent from that of the visor, stopping at the rear part of the shell, allowing the helmet to be more aerodynamic without neglecting elegance. In this way, Mathisse can be worn in different driving and climatic conditions, adapting to both urban use and touring. The rider can change the setting of the helmet at will, wearing it as a full-face helmet, so with the chin guard closed, as a “jet” with the chin guard opened, or in the third configuration without the visor, to underline a vintage-chic look.

GIVI: half a life of experience and innovation in its helmets

The great evolution of the transalpine company has led it to achieve the greatest comfort, style and safety in head protection on a motorbike.

GIVI, motorcycle and motorcyclist equipment brand, has been working for more than 20 years in the design and manufacture of top level helmets. Two decades in which, through innovation, active listening and constant effort, it has achieved that its products reach the highest levels of quality and safety, becoming one of the first manufacturers to launch models on the market that have passed the tough and demanding tests of the ECE 22-06 standard.

1920 marked the beginning of the technical evolution of motorcycling helmets with the first soft leather models derived from the world of aviation. Thirty years later, jet helmets appeared and in the 1970s the first full-face helmet was developed. It was around this time – in 1978 to be precise – that GIVI was founded by Giuseppe Visenzi as a manufacturer of motorbike accessories. But it was not until 2002 that the transalpine company began its journey in the world of helmets, with the 10.1 jet. Two decades have passed since then, a time in which it has continued to produce and improve its products to the point it has become a reference in a sector that has recently seen the approval of a new and demanding regulation: ECE 22.06.

With the 10.1, the Italian brand managed to catch up with its rivals. Despite marking GIVI’s beginning in the sector, the jet included a removable visor and adjustable air intake – features on a par with the competition’s models.

Their first modular, the X.08, came out in 2008 with the same features as most helmets in the industry, with two different sizes of thermoplastic shells depending on size and a synthetic polyester foam liner. What’s more, there was a micrometric quick release fastener to speed up putting the helmet on and taking it off.

In 2013 it launched its first full-face model, the X.01. Made of thermoplastic with an EPS interior and a synthetic polyester fabric lining bonded with polyurethane foam, it more than met the standards of the time. It also had a ZSP Micro 01 micrometric closure with a polyester strap, features and materials that, although they have improved over the years, are still present in GIVI helmets.

GIVI’s path in this sector wasn’t an easy one. They had to carve out a niche in a sector filled with brands and specialists who boasted years of experience. It wasn’t enough for them to have earned a leading position in the production of motorbike and scooter accessories. So they set up an in-house laboratory with state-of-the-art technology and specialised engineers and technicians. Here they carry out crash tests and recreate all possible riding situations, taking into account atmospheric conditions and simulating the tests that the helmet has to pass in order to achieve certification. All this is what has made the difference, allowing the brand to quickly catch up with its competitors.

All the helmets mentioned above, as well as the rest of the previous GIVI ranges, have been tested under the ECE 22-05 standard since its inception as a helmet manufacturer. Therefore, the enormous trajectory of its R&D department, together with its experience in carrying out the tests required by this standard, has led to the production of increasingly safer helmets. And with the incorporation of the ECE 22-06 homologation, their adaptation to it has been much quicker, simpler and more efficient.

Thanks to their long history of developing and testing these products, last year GIVI launched models with the new standard. Their first off-road helmet, the 60.1, together with the 50.9 and 50.8 full-face helmets, presented at EICMA 2021, were the first with ECE 22-06 homologation, demonstrating had successfully anticipated its obligatory nature. From that moment on, the new GIVI helmets are produced under this standard and work is already underway on the homologation of all its previous models that are still on the market.

With this, GIVI proves it’s at the forefront, not only in the motorbike accessories sector, but also in the motorbike equipment sector. This is the perfect end to 20 years of history as a helmet manufacturer, and the road ahead is full of innovation and quality.

These, and many more GIVI items, provide a boost for motorcycle trips and make any journey on two wheels a more comfortable experience. For more information about this product or any other accessories for your motorcycle visit www.givi.co.uk or call 01327 706220.
