The CB125R receives four new colours

The CB125R receives four new colours, a new full colour TFT meter and EURO5+ classification for 24YM.

Ever since its introduction, the CB125R has been a bike that has stood head and shoulders above its peers. Powered by its fun and peppy 125cc engine, the CB125R has been the gateway for many into Honda Neo Sports Café ownership, all of whom have benefitted from rich specifications and minimalist retro styling presented with a very modern twist.

Together with the additional premium touch of a new 5in full colour TFT meter inherited from the CB1000R, the CB125R gains four striking new colour schemes for 24YM that ensure it will continue to stand out from the crowd for years to come.

The new screen offers the rider a choice of three types of display for speed and rpm, and clearly shows information on fuel consumption and gear selection; it also features a customisable shift-up point on the rev-counter. The screen is paired with an all-new left switchgear, which is both stylish and intuitive.

The 24YM CB125R will be available in four new colours: Matt Cynos Gray, Pearl Cool White, Reef Sea Blue Metallic and Pearl Splendor Red with colour matching rear fairing. All feature colour-matched big CB125R logos on the radiator shrouds, and negative-coloured Honda Wing logos on the tank. The only exception is the Matt Cynos Gray Metallic colour scheme, which is unique in the line-up, with gold CB125R and Honda Wing logo on shrouds and tank respectively.

For 21YM, the CB125R gained 41mm Showa Separate Function Big Piston (SFF-BP) USD forks from its Neo Sports Café sibling, the CB650R, bringing real ‘big-bike’ suspension quality to a 125cc machine. It also received an all-new engine that delivers a healthy 11.0kW power with 11.6Nm torque, which for 24YM, is homologated for EURO5+.

The new EURO5+ emissions targets, which will become a legal requirement at the end of 2024, sees the introduction of new ‘on-board’ monitoring of the catalyst, the lowering of the threshold for identifying a fault and therefore warning the owner earlier, stricter noise restrictions and improving long-term exhaust emissions.

Husqvarna Motorcycles Launches Brand-New Svartpilen 801 2024

Powerful scrambler-inspired street motorcycle debuts worldwide.

Husqvarna Motorcycles is proud to launch its all-new and powerful naked motorcycle, the 2024 Svartpilen 801. Combining performance, agility and contemporary scrambler-inspired design, the Svartpilen 801 is the latest and largest displacement naked machine in the brand’s line-up. Engineered to elevate the road riding experience and escape the ordinary, this exceptional motorcycle sets a new standard of excellence for middleweight street models.

Weighing just 181 kg, the Svartpilen 801 is built around a strong and light chromium-molybdenum tubular steel frame for a precise balance of flex and rigidity. At its heart is a powerful 799 cc parallel-twin DOHC engine. Tipping the scales at 52 kg dry, the engine offers a peak power output of 105 hp with its reliability and efficiency guaranteed by innovative technologies that extend service intervals to 15,000 km and ensure an extremely low fuel consumption.

The pairing of its lightweight engine and frame gives the Svartpilen 801 a perfectly balanced power-to-weight ratio, resulting in a consistently agile and exciting ride. A Power Assist Slipper Clutch (PASC) system maximises traction under hard acceleration and prevents instability under hard braking, with an Easy Shift providing seamless gear changes. Adjustable WP APEX suspension offers 140 mm of fork travel and 150 mm of shock travel for assured comfort and handling both in and out of town. Pirelli MT60 RS tyres – fitted to 17” wheels – provide a high level of grip and feedback.

The minimalist look of the Svartpilen 801 is achieved by premium details such as the LED lights and aluminium handlebars, coming together to create a unique and eye-catching street machine. Slimline ergonomic bodywork finished in dark tones wraps neatly around the engine and frame, with a two-piece seat offering a high level of comfort and unrestricted movement.

State-of-the-art electronic aids improve the rideability of the Svartpilen 801, with an optional Dynamic Pack taking the street riding experience to an even higher level. In addition to adjustable Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC) and ABS, Street, Rain and Sport ride modes are pre-set options as standard. The Dynamic Pack introduces Motor Slip Regulation (MSR) for controlled deceleration with the Anti-Wheelie mode limiting the maximum wheelie angle for extra safety.

A best-in-class technology package provides ease of use and maximum performance for every rider. The J.Juan brake system delivers exceptional stopping power thanks to the corner-sensitive Bosch ABS system. For advanced riders, a Supermoto ABS mode can be engaged by those looking for a heightened level of braking feel and a closer connection with the road.

Versatility and safety are enhanced by premium electronic features, including a 5” TFT dashboard and Connectivity Unit as standard. Pairing the unit with the Ride Husqvarna Motorcycles app allows for clear Turn-by-Turn navigation to be activated, as well as the ability to control telephone calls and music selection. A Hazard Warning system is also integrated into the handlebar controls while anti-theft protection is provided via the immobiliser.

AI TECHNOLOGY AND CRASH MONITORING PERFORMANCE
The state-of-the-art Tech-Air® System uses an advanced crash detection algorithm that leverages AI to deploy the airbag precisely when needed. The Leather and Canvas Tech-Air® 3 incorporates 6 integrated sensors (1 triaxial accelerometer and 1 triaxial gyroscope) to provide the best crash monitoring performance and active airbag protection in a variety of dynamic street riding scenarios, even when stopped.

An LED display on the front chest indicates the airbag’s operational status. The LED display also incorporates a haptic alert, which vibrates to confirm the System is armed and alerts the rider when the battery is running low.

PROTECTION
Alpinestars’ crash detection triggering algorithm has been developed and refined over millions of kilometers of riding data and thousands of crashes, allowing the system to accurately assess when to deploy the airbag ahead of an impact or other dangerous situations like a lowside or highside crash. In the event the Tech-Air® 3 detects the start of a crash, the System will activate the protective airbag in milliseconds, providing upper body protection, and reducing up to 95% of the impact energy transferred to the rider anywhere the airbag protects, which includes the full chest and back.

SYSTEM OPERATIONAL STATUS
A discretely hidden but easily visible LED display on the front chest indicates the Airbag System’s operational status and incorporates a haptic alert, which vibrates to confirm the System is armed, as well as alerts the rider when the battery is running low. Bluetooth connectivity to a Tech-Air® App allows monitoring of both the System’s operational status and battery status and mapping of your journey via MyRide.

TECH-AIR® APP AND SYSTEM SOFTWARE UPDATES
When it comes to other features and benefits, the Tech-Air® 3 Leather & Canvas Systems are Bluetooth-enabled, allowing riders to easily update their System with new releases of the software via the free Tech-Air® App. Additionally, there is a wide variety of functionalities within the App, giving riders the ability to check System status, consult the User Manual, and record their rides on an enhanced Google map, just to name a few. Regarding battery life, a fully charged battery will provide the system with 40 hours of active ride time. A low battery will fully charge in about 4 hours; charging the battery for approximately 1 hour will provide approximately 8-10 hours of riding time.

Dainese Introduces its 2024 D-AIR® Racing Suits: Three New State-of-the-Art Motorcycle Suits

Dainese presents the new MUGELLO 3 D-AIR®, MISANO 3 D-AIR® and MISANO 3 D-AIR® WMN: three state-of-the-art, lightweight, high-performance motorbike suits, equipped with the revolutionary triple-activation D-air® Racing airbag and the pentaxial elastic system, designed to offer the very highest levels of performance and safety on the track, as well as maximizing comfort and ergonomics.

The latest incarnation of the D-air® RACING SHIELD 3X system – featuring the Racing Shield 3x airbag with patented microfilament technology that allows for up to three consecutive activations – ensures maximum safety on the bike. The innovative pentaxial elastic system on the back enables maximum freedom in the saddle in any riding position, due to the suit’s capacity to stretch in five directions, adapting seamlessly to the rider’s movements.

The new Veloce Racing Neck design, race-tested by MotoGP riders, reduces pressure on the neck, increasing freedom of movement and control. The Pro-Armor protectors on the shoulders and the soft inserts on the hips provide comfortable protection in all racing conditions. MISANO 3 D-AIR – BLACK-ANTHRACITE FLUO-YELLOW

The metal plates (titanium for the Mugello 3, aluminum for the Misano 3 and Misano 3 WMN) on the knees, shoulders and elbows – an iconic technology used across Dainese racing clothing – are designed to facilitate sliding in the event of a fall, minimizing the risk of rolling and maximizing energy dissipation.

Innovation in every detail: the latest evolution of the Replaceable Slider System (RSS) 4.0 now enables the knee slider to be changed without altering the position of the base attached to the Velcro on the suit. This makes it possible to maintain an ideal position at all times, simply replacing the new slider. Innovation also comes to the elbows of the suit, which now offer two different slider positions; these can be easily adjusted with one hand with no need for tools, so riders can always choose their preferred position on the basis of the lean angle achieved.

Thermal comfort is guaranteed through the perforated areas on both sides of the suit, with larger vents at strategic points, for the best performance even on the hottest days at the track.

Ventura EVO Rack and Pack system turns Super Meteor into Super Tourer in seconds

Royal Enfield’s Super Meteor 650 has bags of touring potential, but its retro lines are easily ruined by the hardware usually needed to carry luggage.

With Ventura’s EVO Rack, Super Meteor owners can switch between stripped-down cruiser and fully-loaded tourer in seconds, without messing up its custom looks.

Designed to be as discreet as possible, all the EVO Rack needs is the two tailor-made Ventura L-Brackets fixed to existing mounting points on the bike’s frame. The Rack then just slots into place and is ready for loading.

Super Meteor 650 EVO Rack

Once fitted, it can hold any Pack from the Ventura range: from the compact 12-litre EVO Jet Stream, ideal for day trips and Sunday cruises; to the massive 60-litre tour pack, which can easily swallow a week’s-worth of clothing and kit.

All the Packs are made from a tough and water-resistant laminated ballistic fabric, and have practical features like wide openings, glove-friendly zip-pulls, and carry handles for hassle-free use on and off the bike.

The ‘slide-on/clip-in’ sleeve-fitting system means they’re quick and easy to get on and off; no fiddly fitting procedure or complex straps and cords. It also stops the Pack from shifting around when riding.

When luggage isn’t needed, both the Pack and Rack can be removed in seconds, leaving only the subtle L-Brackets in place and the Super Meteor’s rear end completely uncluttered. An optional Grab Handle (£25.95 including VAT) can be fitted in its place for an extra practical touch.

L-Brackets retail at £187.95 and the Evo Rack costs £96.95 (both including VAT).

Highly anticipated Vmoto ‘Stash’ set to hit UK in April

Vmoto, the UK’s premier electric bike brand, is on track to make waves in the electric bike market with the long-awaited release of the Vmoto Stash- for delivery to customers in late April/ early May. Building on the brands’ solid reputation among electric bike enthusiasts, Vmoto aims to redefine the industry with this innovative model which bridges the gap from budget to high performance e-machines.

The Vmoto Stash, initially unveiled as a prototype last year, is now ready to hit the streets in its full production form. The model sets a new standard for electric bikes, offering enhanced power and sophistication. Notably, the best-selling company has transitioned from the ‘Super Soco’ branding to proudly wear the ‘Vmoto’ label, keeping all models under one banner, with the Stash marking its position as the flagship model in a more premium line-up.

Designed by the renowned British designer Adrian Morton (from the European C-Creative style centre), one of the most famous two-wheeler designers of recent years., known for iconic creations such as the MV Agusta F4 and Benelli Tornado Tre, the Vmoto Stash boasts a captivating design that is sure to impress.

A standout feature of the Vmoto Stash is its innovative storage design. The space between the seat and handlebars serves as a spacious storage compartment, capable of accommodating most full-face helmets. Beneath this storage area resides a robust 100Ah, 72V battery, packing 7.2kWh of energy, which powers an electric motor mounted on the front of the swingarm, driving the rear wheel via a chain.

The motor offers a nominal power of 8kW (equivalent to 10.7bhp), making it suitable for L-plate riders as it falls below the 11kW (15hp) limit for 125cc learner machines. However, the Vmoto Stash delivers even more power through its ‘boost’ mode, pushing the peak power to an impressive 15kW (20.1bhp). This added boost not only enhances acceleration but also raises the top speed from 68.4mph (110km/h) to 74.6mph (120km/h) for brief periods, facilitating safe overtaking manoeuvres.

Additional specifications include a total weight of 143kg, an impressive range of 93.2 miles (150km) on a single charge, a compact wheelbase of 1373mm, and a comfortable seat height of 830mm.

The Vmoto Stash also features a unique braking system with levers on both handlebars, like a scooter, eliminating the need for foot controls. This combined brake system engages both the front and rear brakes simultaneously when either lever is applied. Both front and rear brakes are hydraulic, featuring discs at each end, with the front held by a robust radial-mount calliper. Furthermore, the Vmoto Stash includes standard ABS for added safety. Equipped with 17-inch wheels, the bike features high quality Pirelli Diablo Rosso (110/70 rubber at the front and 140/70 at the rear) as standard for the first 40 available in the UK, and as an option thereafter.

CEO, of the now manufacturer owned, Vmoto Soco UK following a takeover from the previous distributor in 2022. Clive Mann said, “We couldn’t be more excited for the Stash, this indicates a new era for Vmoto by bridging the gap between electric and ICE and providing not just high-quality but great value learner legal vehicles. 2024 will see huge pushes for us as a brand in the UK and worldwide, and this is just the beginning”.

The Vmoto Stash is priced at a launch only price of £6299 + OTR a higher price point than the current range-topping TC Max (£4499) due to its far superior performance and larger battery capacity. It is also available in Black and Blue colourways.

This summer, riders across the UK will once again be able to enjoy the latest models in the 2024 Kawasaki range when the brand’s popular Dealer Demo Days roadshow returns.

Kicking off in April, the event will visit dealers the length and breadth of the country.

With summer just around the corner, the Kawasaki Dealer Demo Days is the perfect opportunity for riders to get out on the road and try the latest 2024 Kawasaki range. This year’s event will run between April and September and will see the roadshow visit dozens of dealers across the UK, so customers should keep an eye on their local dealers for their closest event.

Each event will see a huge array of machines for riders to book test rides on, including the exciting new Ninja 7 Hybrid and Z 7 Hybrid machines, Ninja ZX-4RR, Z500 and Ninja 500. Alongside these new models, attendees will also be able to try the ever-popular Ninja 1000SX and Versys range.

Dunlop SportSmart TT impresses at Suzuki GSX-8R launch

Dunlop SportSmart TT was the chosen tire of Suzuki to equip the launch of its new GSX-8R in January, helping to extract maximum performance out of the new model.

The launch took place at the same Monteblanco Circuit that Dunlop used to launch SportSmart TT six years ago.

The Suzuki GSX-8R, announced at EICMA in 2023 and commercially launched in January 2024, is based on its naked GSX-8S predecessor, but features a host of updated features to focus it more as a sport bike. The GSX-8R comprises an exposed 776cc parallel twin-powered engine and seat rail, and is equipped with a fairing and separate handlebars, making it suitable for track riding.

Engineered for versatility across road and track riding, Dunlop SportSmart TT was expertly placed to highlight the advanced capabilities of the GSX-8R, with both products demonstrating the ability to strike an impressive balance between sporty, track riding and comfort.

SportSmart TT: Race-winning technologies for track and road
A track-capable bike requires a track-capable tire. In fact, the TT in the tire name refers to ‘Track Technology’ and signifies Dunlop’s commitment to superior performance on track.

SportSmart TT’s NTEC RT technology allows for its rear pressure to be lowered for track use, giving more grip by enlarging the tire’s contact patch. Its Speed Vent Tread, meanwhile, is a tread groove pattern that opens and closes when the tire turns, improving heat dissipation. On the front tire, a revised dynamic mould profile gives the rare balance between lower steering effort and optimum turn-in grip, delivering enhanced feedback and confidence when braking and turning.

Suzuki invited 50 journalists from more than 10 countries to the test, many of whom commented favourably on the bike’s behaviour with the SportSmart TT tires, noting it had “improved” when turning into corners, and that the tire gave “much more support” for the bike, resulting in good grip, stability and control when riding on tarmac.
