Biketek Pro Lever Guards

Brand new from Bike It these lever guards provide critical protection for the brake and/or clutch lever from accidental activation. Developed to improve safety on the racetrack where racers commonly swap paint and a quick elbow on the front brakes could easily launch a rider into a dangerous front flip.  A lever guard for the clutch can also prevent a loss of drive that could cause a loss of control.

This essential piece of safety equipment has been adopted by major racing organizations as a mandatory requirement for its improvement in safety.

Lever guards aren’t just for the racetrack; they reduce risk for almost all motorcycles ridden on the street. Riders who lane split or ride regularly in groups run the risk of contacting another vehicle or bumping lightly into another motorcycle.

A lever guard significantly improves your ability to avoid external forces from activating the brakes or clutch.

An Impressive Set of High-Performance Exhaust Systems for the Suzuki GSX-R1000

Akrapovič has launched a new range of high-performance parts for the Suzuki GSX-R1000 all designed to make this iconic sports bike an even better performer and to take the look and sound to greater heights.

This new range features products designed to suit all tastes and demands. From entry-level Slip-On Line mufflers – which are the first step in exhaust tuning – to full race-inspired systems, including the lightest full system, this new collection is beautifully designed and manufactured with a firm eye on performance, lightweight construction, and of course that signature Akrapovič sound.

Top-of-the-range is the brand-new Evolution Line (Titanium). Constructed from high-grade ultra-lightweight titanium, this stunning system is the lightest Akrapovič complete exhaust system for the 2017 GSX-R1000, weighing just 4.4 kg – which is over 57% lighter than the stock system. Its distinctive shape was developed especially for the Suzuki GSX-R1000 based on Akrapovič’s vast racing experience. With power and torque gains through the whole rpm range, adding over 10 hp at 9,000 rpm and more than 9 Nm at 7,600 rpm, this system is the best Akrapovič exhaust upgrade for performance. With its deep, true racing sound that is perfectly tuned to match the increased performance, this is a pure racing upgrade for the GSX-R1000 machines.

The other full system in the range is the Racing Line (Titanium), designed and constructed with the same attention to detail as the Evolution Line system, but using stainless-steel headers.

Akrapovič has also included two Slip-On Line mufflers in the series, both serious performance upgrades in their own right. The EC and ECE type-approved Slip-On Line (Carbon) features the distinctive hexagonal type design that Akrapovič is famed for. Made from lightweight titanium, with a carbon-fibre outer sleeve, endcap, and heatshield, this muffler looks fantastic and produces a characteristic Akrapovič sound with a deeper tone.

The Slip-On Line (Titanium) is a Grand Prix–inspired design. Its short and sporty appearance is perfectly in keeping with the bike’s lines. Constructed from high-grade ultra-lightweight titanium, which provides a 70% weight savings over the stock muffler, this is an exhaust that certainly is serious. The stunning soundtrack gives a pure sense of racing and total exhilaration – it is an exhaust purely aimed at track use.

To further enhance the performance of the Slip-On Line exhausts, Akrapovič has launched an optional header in stainless steel, which when fitted will turn the Slip-On Line into a complete system.

With this new collection of Akrapovič products for the Suzuki GSX-R1000, the Slovenian high-performance premier exhaust system manufacturer has developed a wide range of mufflers and complete systems, plus the opportunity to upgrade with optional headers, to suit a wide variety of tastes, desires, and requirements. These are certainly performance parts that show Akrapovič’s dedication to providing the best solutions through innovation and from its racing heritage and race-proven materials, all combined with the stunning Akrapovič soundtrack.

R&G Goes Wild With New Seat Cushions

Hampshire-based R&G is excited to announce it is has become UK distributor for Wild Ass™ motorcycle air seat cushions. Designed using clinically-proven medical seating technology, the cushions eliminate painful pressure points and numbness, ensuring a comfortable ride, no matter the distance!

Every motorcyclist, particularly those used to riding long distances, will have experienced discomfort and numbness at some point in their riding career but that can soon be a thing of the past, thanks to the R&G-distributed Wild Ass seat cushions.
Using proven technology, the air seat cushions not only eliminate pressure points but promote blood circulation via their adjustable, interconnected air cells which conform to the rider’s shape – regardless of weight or seating position! The cushions also reduce shock and vibrations, helping to reduce lower back pain, as well as increasing air circulation under the rider, dispersing heat and perspiration far quicker than a standard motorcycle seat.
Thanks to three different models, Wild Ass air seat cushions are available for a wider range of motorcycles than any other cushion on the market. The Wild Ass Smart model is a universal fit for most large and small Cruisers, whilst the Wild Ass Sport was designed with a six inch front to match the narrower seat profile of sportier looking motorcycles, such as Sports Tourers and Sportsbikes. Not just aimed at riders, the Wild Ass Pillion range ensures your passenger can ride in comfort too.
Each of the three models also comes with a choice of three insert options, further setting Wild Ass apart from the competition. Wild Ass Lite is made from an economical and lightweight polyurethane and is perfect for the budget-conscious rider.  Wild Ass Air Gel is made with three layers of polyurethane, making it more durable than the Lite version, as well as featuring gel pads inserted inside each individual air cell to provide additional cushioning, shock absorption and vibrations dampening. Air Gel can be used without air, for when the rider wishes to feel close to the bike but also wants some additional cushioning. Wild Ass Classic is the ultimate in comfort and elasticity. Made with medical grade neoprene rubber, it provides the rider with a natural feel in the seat and is the premium product for frequent, long-distance riders. Each insert is easily inflated by hand, allowing the rider to customise the pressure to their exact specification and riding comfort.
Wild Ass air seat cushions are available now from R&G, with prices starting at £99.99 including VAT.
R&G UK Sales Manager Alan Garrett commented “Anyone who has toured on their motorcycle, or regularly rides long distances, will know all too well the discomfort hours spent in the saddle can cause. Thankfully, the Wild Ass range of cushions eliminates that pain, meaning you can ride longer and travel further in complete comfort!”

Wunderlich GoPro Mounts

Stable, secure and discreet, Wunderlich’s new mounts are a safe and simple way to fix a GoPro to almost any current BMW motorcycle.

Action cameras are becoming increasingly commonplace with motorcyclists, but finding suitable on-bike mounting points can prove tricky, with many owners resorting to precarious positioning and complex mounting solutions.

Designed to bolt onto existing mounting points – for the screen, headlight or indicator, depending on the model of bike – there are no suction cups, straps or other fiddly mountings to worry about. Neither is it necessary to drill or cut the bodywork.

Made from precision-cut aluminium alloy, they weigh very little, and feature rubber mountings to help cut out vibration when filming.

The GoPro camera attaches directly to the bracket – no additional adapters or hardware needed – and the bracket is discreet enough to leave in place when the camera isn’t attached.

Mounts are currently available for a wide range of BMW models.

Prices start from just £69.00 for the S1000R and S1000RR; kits for the F800 Adventure cost £75 and the R1200GS LC kits are £89.00.

SW Motech Accessories for KTM 1290 Super Adventure S

German motorcycle engineering specialists, SW Motech, have introduced a comprehensive range of model-specific accessories for KTM’s new 1290 Super Adventure S, giving owners plenty of options for tailoring their ride.

LUGGAGE
A tough, spacious and versatile luggage system enhances any journey, so SW Motech have developed their complete aluminium pannier and rack kit for the KTM.

Made from light and durable powder-coated aluminium, Trax Adventure Panniers are designed to sit neatly around the tail unit and exhaust system on the Adventure S, providing a whopping 82-litres of storage space.

The cases are attached using SW Motech’s new Quick-Lock Evo Side Carriers. The patented system means that not only the cases, but also the carriers, can be removed in seconds, leaving the KTM completely uncluttered.

Each box is shaped to give ample ground clearance when cornering, and feature glass reinforced plastic corner caps to protect against knocks and scuffs, both on and off the bike.

Removable lids and quick release fasteners make loading and unloading a breeze. Four large tie-down points feature on leach lid, for carrying extras.

A complete system for the KTM – consisting of Quick-Lock Evo carrier, 45-litre (left) and 37-litre (right) TraX Evo Alu-Boxes, and a locking kit with 6 matching locks and 2 keys – retails at £658.00.

For added carrying capability, the 1290 can also be fitted with SW Motech’s Alu-Rack luggage carrier (£115.99), Seat Rack (£134.99) and the Quick Lock Tankbag system.

The high strength, machined Alu-Rack is a neat and slender alternative to tubular systems and is compatible with the Quick-Lock Adapter Plate and Quick-Lock luggage rack extension, which enables the attachment of the TraX® EVO Top Cases.

The bike-specific Seat-Rack replaces the passenger seat and offers additional and flexible tie-down options.

Quick Lock Tank Bags come in a variety of sizes and styles and simply click on and off using the tank ring system – no straps or magnets to wrestle with. Prices start at £69.00 for the 5-litre expandable Micro Tank Bag and the tank ring adapter costs £31.00.

ERGONOMICS
Made from high-quality aluminium, the SW Motech Bar Riser helps take the strain out of long journeys. They’re available in either 20 mm or 30 mm rise and in a black or silver finish for £50.99.

The Brake Pedal Extension replaces and enlarges the original brake lever surface area, for added purchase and control. The serrated surface helps stop riding boots slipping off when riding in the wet. RRP: £20.99.

Multi-position adjustable and with a large, removable rubber contact pad for added grip, SW-Motech Evo Footrests offer extra comfort for long rides, both on and off the road. RRP £125.99.

PROTECTION
Finally, the SW Motech Engine Guard for the 1290 helps shield the motor from potentially costly and frustrating damage from flying debris and contact with the ground, trees and rocks when venturing off road. It’s made from light and sturdy 4 mm aluminium and has a wraparound design for large coverage. It retails at £199.99.

Akrapovič Releases Its Collection For The 2017 Yamaha

Akrapovič has unveiled some new products for the latest 2017 Yamaha YZF-R6, all of which are inspired by the Slovenian premier exhaust specialist’s involvement in the highest level of motorcycle racing.

Akrapovič has unveiled some new products for the latest 2017 Yamaha YZF-R6, all of which are inspired by the Slovenian premier exhaust specialist’s involvement in the highest level of motorcycle racing.

Heading the latest new releases is the top-of-the-range, race-inspired Evolution Line (Titanium) exhaust system. It is made exclusively from high-grade, lightweight titanium, with a hand-made carbon-fibre heat shield, all aimed to add extra appeal to the already beautifully designed and finished system. With power and torque gains (+ 10.6 hp at 12,700 rpm; +6.9 Nm at 9,500 rpm) and a weight savings of 59.2% over stock, this is an exhaust system straight for the track. All of this – and the unique Akrapovič racing sound, which is ideally matched to the Yamaha YZF-R6 – makes this a system that really means business.

To accompany the Evolution Line in the new range is the Racing Line (Titanium) exhaust system. It features all the power increases, enhanced weight savings of 49.1%, and unique sound colour of the Evolution Line, but uses stainless-steel tubes for the headers as an upgrade to a full racing-inspired exhaust. This is a true sporty exhaust that performs and sounds as good as it looks. Both of these systems need a remap of the ECU to get the full advantages and performance from them and the bike.

Further enhancing the collection is the new Slip-On Line (Titanium) exhaust. Meeting the latest EC/ECE approvals, this beautifully designed muffler has been created from Akrapovič’s involvement in top-class racing. As with the Evolution Line (Titanium) and the Racing Line (Titanium), all three designs have used knowledge and inspiration from Akrapovič’s involvement with the Factory Yamaha WorldSBK and WorldSSP teams to create these exceptional exhaust systems. They are built using high-grade lightweight titanium and finished with a carbon-fibre heat shield to further enhance the look. There are also optional headers available for the Slip-On Line in stainless steel to upgrade to a full system and take the performance on to higher levels.

The newest additions to the Akrapovič range for the 2017 Yamaha YZF-R6 will enhance the performance, handling, and behaviour of the machine, while adding stunning good looks and a sound that will impress.

New Race screens from Skidmarx

Skidmarx has expanded it’s range of race screens to cover some of the most popular bikes on track, including the BMW S1000RR (2015-on), Kawasaki ZX-10R (2016-on) and all-new GSX-R1000.

Skidmarx has a long racing pedigree and currently supplies the BSB Championship leading JG Speedfit team, as well as top road racers, such as James Hillier.

Racing screens are manufactured in the UK from 2 mm cast acrylic, which is 33% thinner than screens for road use. This is partly to save weight but also because it offers better optical clarity, which is important for riders who spend most of a race tucked in behind the screen.

Race screens can be supplied pre-drilled with 6 mm diameter holes, so they can be fitted to standard fairings using race fixings, or un-drilled, so that owners can customise them to fit race fairings.

Available in standard (super stock), double bubble and TT Tall sizes, Skidmarx can even offer a made-to-measure service for riders with specific requirements.

Classic racers are also catered for – Skidmarx manufacturer blown screens, which were common in the 1970s and 1980s, using 3mm cast acrylic.

Ideal for competition and track day use, prices for Skidmarx race screens start from £39.95 including vat.

Call Skidmarx on 01305 780808 or visit www.skidmarx.co.uk for more information.

New SW Motech Evo Spotlights

Simple to fit, SW Motech Evo Spotlights use maintenance-free LEDs, to help riders spot potential hazards in good time, and make themselves more visible to other road users too.

LEDs emit a powerful light, but consume significantly less power than traditional bulbs, putting less strain on the bike’s battery. They’re also long-lasting and maintenance-free.

Compact and subtly styled, Evo Spotlights are housed in a totally sealed, 100% waterproof, tough aluminium casing.

They connect directly to the motorcycle’s battery – no changes to the motorcycle wiring are required – and come complete with a splash-proof handlebar switch, which is illuminated for ease of operation in the dark.

They’re available in two different variants: 275 Lumen ‘Fog Lights’, which provide a wider horizontal spread of light; and 375 Lumen ‘High Beam’ for a narrow and powerful beam of light.

The Spotlights can be mounted horizontally or vertically, and can be fitted directly to crash bars or frame tubes, using bike-specific mounts (available separately). They measure just 7.1 cm in diameter, so are unobtrusive wherever mounted.

SW Motech Evo Spotlights cost £271.99 per pair, including VAT. Each kit comes complete with the required wiring harness and fuse, a ‘toggle’ handlebar mounted power switch – for easy operation when riding – plus all the required mounting materials and instructions.

New SW-Motech Evo Footrests

Multi-position adjustable and with a large, removable rubber contact pad for added grip and comfort, SW-Motech Evo Footrests offer extra comfort for long rides, both on and off the road.

  • Multi-position adjustment – both height and angle
  • Large dimension, removable rubber pad with profiled surface for grip
  • Tailored to fit the bike’s existing mounts
  • Stainless steel and CNC-milled aluminium alloy construction

A tailored riding position can make all the difference on long journeys – even the smallest amount of adjustment provides much needed relief to cramped limbs – yet only a handful of motorcycles offer any adjustability, and most of those only have movement in the seat and bars.

Available for a broad range of dual sport and touring bikes, the Evo Footrest Kits allow riders to increase legroom, by lowering the height and adjusting the angle of the foot. Height can be adjusted from standard to 15mm lower, with 10 positions in between, and the foot angle can be rotated backwards or forwards by 18 degrees.

A large dimension contact area with a profiled rubber insert helps absorb vibration and road shocks, and is profiled to ensure a firm grip – especially reassuring on dirt roads and trails, when standing on the pegs is required. The rubber insert is removable, should the rider prefer.

Each kit is manufactured from corrosion-resistant stainless steel for durability and strength, and features lightweight, but tough aluminium alloy footrest links, which are CNC-milled for accurate fit and operation.

The kits are tailor made to fit the original footpeg mounts, and come with all required fixings and full instructions.

Airhawk Comfort Seats Updated For 2017

Airhawk has updated its air-filled motorcycle seat cushions for 2017, with new cutaway sections around sensitive areas and re-designed cell geometry

Airhawk’s proven Comfort Seating System uses air pockets to minimise pressure points on the pelvis and spine, as well as providing shock absorption and vibration protection, to provide relief from the discomfort many riders experience during long stretches in the saddle.

The new, updated cushions feature an additional centre cut-out area, running from front to back, for extra pressure relief and ‘non-contact’ of sensitive areas.

Cutaway sections at the front and back – the latter also has a tapered transition – give increased comfort and pressure relief on both the groin and tail-bone areas.

Air cell geometry has also been re-designed, to improve airflow under the rider and eliminate ‘hot-spots’.

Each cushion comes with a breathable and water repellent poly-mesh cover, which helps to keep the rider cool and dry. The side panels also feature a three-layer knit polyester for air circulation

New and improved Airhawk Motorcycle Cushions are currently available in three versions: the ‘Cruiser R’ Large and Small, and the ‘Dual Sport’ for smaller, narrower seats, all of which retail at £135.00 including VAT.

Airhawk Pillion Pads sell for £120.00 (including VAT).

Upgrade Harley-Davidson Cables with Venhill

Harley-Davidson owners can now fit Venhill’s high quality cables to their ride, following the introduction of replacement throttle and clutch cable kits to their catalogue.

All kits are universal, supplied with cables that are unfinished at one end, so that they can be cut to length.

All of the connections are designed to fasten securely without the need for soldering, so these are proper DIY kits for ‘home mechanics’, made to the high standard expected from Venhill.

The Dual Throttle and Idle cable kits [pictured below] come in both push-fit and threaded versions, to suit a wide range of models. Extra long – at 1350 mm / 53 inches – they allow for bikes fitted with high handlebars, and come with either 90° or 75° bends, in a choice of black or braided steel outers. The black cables have longitudinal conduit (not coiled) which won’t pinch on bends, so they won’t restrict cable movement.

The Clutch cable [pictured above] is also made extra long – at 2080 mm / 82 inches – and comes in black or braided steel finishes to match the throttle. Like all Venhill cables, they’re designed to deliver improved performance and durability, along with smoother action.

The Dual H-D Throttle and Idle Cable kits (push-fit and threaded) retail at £37.08 with a black outer and £61.80 in braided steel.

Clutch Cable Kits sell for £30.90 in Black and £52.52 with the braided steel outer. All quoted prices include VAT.

Akrapovic Increases the Appeal of One of BMW’S Iconic Bikes

Akrapovic has launched its latest exhaust for the BMW stable with the brand-new Slip-On Line (Titanium) EC/ECE exhaust for the 2017 BMW S 1000 RR, which will also be available in a striking black finish.

The perfectly formed shape of Akrapovič’s new exhaust is expertly finished to follow the lines of the BMW S 1000 RR, a motorcycle that has led a Superbike revolution, and now Akrapovič has added to that iconic status with a stunning new titanium exhaust for the 2017 incarnation of this machine. Made from high-grade ultra-lightweight titanium, the Slip-On Line is impeccably designed and finished with the latest evolution of Akrapovič muffler technology, which is a major part of the exhaust’s appeal and has led to a design that perfectly emphasises the Supersport credentials of the bike. With eye-catching inserts that start at the heatshield and blend in seamlessly with the perfectly hand-crafted carbon-fibre endcap – which is a totally new design and a work of art in itself – this muffler exemplifies quality and performance. It also comes with a heat-resistant black paint covering on the titanium muffler that makes a strong statement about the exhaust’s credentials.

The Slip-On Line is not just about stunning good looks; it also improves both power and torque outputs and increases throttle response, giving the bike a sharper and more linear power delivery. With the use of ultra-lightweight titanium, the overall weight is reduced, which also enhances the handling of this well-balanced machine. As with any Akrapovič exhaust, the sound has been perfectly tuned to deliver a deeper and sportier tone in keeping with the unique Akrapovič sound.

The system is EC/ECE type approved and is completely compliant with the latest Euro 4 regulations. Its simple plug-and-play operation means it is easy to install and needs no remapping of the ECU to get the optimal performance from the BMW S 1000 RR. Optional headers will also be available in titanium and stainless steel to take the performance and sound levels to greater heights.

The Akrapovič Slip-On Line (Titanium) is an exhaust that will make the iconic BMW S 1000 RR stand out further from the crowd by enhancing its looks, improving its performance, and increasing its aural pleasure.
